Perfection

December 17th had sunshine, sparkling snow on the ground, delish brunch at the Joseph Smith Building, letter from Tony read by Scott (it began like this..."Today is the 6 month anniversary of me being on my mission and yet my celebration is being selfishly overshadowed by some little wedding for time and all eternity...you can make it up to me by letting all of Victoria's sisters and friends know that I will be available in 2012..."), video and journaling in a "he said, she said" way, Grandpa George marrying his grandson and Victoria in the Salt Lake Temple, reception at the Grand Hall at the Gateway and dancing, dancing, dancing...Big Unit was non-stop (so was Kate Call who literally danced for 2 hours straight and Lola who did not want to leave - she even jumped into Kalen's arms and danced with him instead of leaving!). T'was perfection. Note to self...5" high heels could possibly have been used as torture devices in the Middle Ages. By about 10:00 p.m., I would have opted for the rack instead of my horrific black spikes!!!!

Joyeux Noël

T'was the week before Christmas
and all through France
Tony was skinny -
not fitting in his pants

Christmas candy came from England
RuthAnn McGee sent tons
Hopefully all those goodies
Can put weight on his buns!

His suits have been taken in
But he's running each day
When he comes back in 2012
Just what will he weigh?

He's loving his mission
Loves the people in France
They seem to love him back
Despite his now 'baggy' pants!

Merry Christmas to Tony
Or Joyeux Noël I should say
We love our little frenchman
And think of him every day!

Alex and Victoria

December 17, 2010...Great day for a wedding!

Les missionaires de Paris

The German, the Tahitian and the two Utah Boys...on the steps of the Cathedral at St. Martine.

Tony and his companion visiting Jean-Pierre in Rennes. He is a member who is great about feeding the missionaries and apparently sharing his love of sombreros as well.

Joyeux Anniversaire à moi!

Happy birthday to me...and Jared! Guess who is older? Perfect night with perfect people and the perfect cake...followed by 5 out of the 9 of us getting the 24 hour flu bug. Quite a celebration. Family, friends and cake make for the perfect festivity. Il ètait magnifique et j'adore mes amies et ma famille aussi. Kait was being a true capitalist and making money doing some babysitting instead of eating cake (yes, we saved lots and lots for her) and Tony was being a true religious zealot by knocking on doors in France.

Perfect Parenting Promise...

Love, love, love this quote. It is the perfect way to describe how to allow people to "own for themselves" their beliefs and testimony of truth. I found this picture to put behind the quote. It is somewhere that I would like to walk. Maybe I already have? Looks peaceful and promising...heavenly.

Never-ending camp pictures...

How I adore my s'more loving stake young women cohorts. Love them with all my heart!!
Suzanne, Lori and Laurel...they are beyond fabulously divine. How did I get so blessed to work with such incredible ladies?
Well...perhaps we aren't overly talented at setting up tents...
But, we do wear fabulous socks! That has to count for something!

The best sight in the entire world...girls in camp t-shirts at an amphitheater having fun (this was pre-hail storm:)
The face of a woman who has functioned on 4 hours of sleep for 5 nights...this would be the end of day 4...not a pretty sight!
By the end of the camp, this entire wall was filled with thoughts of love, peace and friendship.
Tiffany, Niederhauser and Aimee..the most amazing camp directors on the planet!
Sweet Megan!
Really, not too much head room in the cabins. Best not sit up in the middle of the night when your alarm accidentally goes off...Laurel!!!!!!
Outside the lodge: tye-died value colors.
The most amazing speaker ever...Brother Brad Caldwell. What a spirit he brings everywhere he goes!
YCL's...how I LOVE my YCL's...
Sitting with my peeps on day one.

Mon fils avant sa mission à Paris...Au revoir

Au revoir mon fils...
Last picture before heading into the MTC. Kait decided to stay home with Grandpa and Grandma and say goodbye there. She had to hold on to Daphne who was trying to get into the car with Tony! It was a tearful 13 year old and an equally tearful little 10 year old puppy!
Tony and Niki outside the MTC
Tate, Max and Lola the morning Tony was "MTC bound!" Lola is waving bye-bye.
Goodbye hugs from Ethan, Kate, and Isaac. Adam was too comfy in his stroller!

One last Lola moment!

Stake Girls Camp 2010 "All You Need is Love"

June 8 - 11th was spent at Camp Zarahemla with 350 other people. Enjoyed amazing YCLs, incredible food, wonderful speakers, too much laughter in our cabin, waking up at 4:50 a.m., every morning, running in the hail, beautiful singing, silly camp songs, chirping birds, discovering that many leaders are not "morning people" (even though Lori and I tried to convert them!), receiving yw stones and commitments of "being ready to forgive and forget" thanks to Brother Caldwell, remembering Meg's words "if life gets tough, keep rolling" and grateful to be in the mountains with such amazing people.
